Make it a memorable vacation or weekend getaway, with family, friends, or solo!

  • Main Level: Spacious, open-concept floorplan with a soaring, pitched, wood ceiling and dramatic architecture with open wood beam trusses.

The main entrance opens up to a large living room, dining room and kitchen. Two bedrooms, full bathroom with tub/shower.

The real pine and alder wood finishes add a warm feel and woodsy atmosphere, while the furniture, art, and decor add a European rustic-modern flair to the mountain cabin.

The large, high-end, fully reclining sofa is perfect for family movie nights (did we mention the giant 85” TV and great AV system to boot?), comfy book-reading, gazing out at the lush evergreens through the floor-to -ceilings glass, or snuggling up for a nap in front of the large wood-burning fireplace. The rustic dining table comfortably sits 8 (more if you squeeze in), and overlooks the giant, majestic sugarpine (it seriously is one of the largest, if not “the” largest sugarpine in Arnold!).

The updated kitchen has all major appliances, granite counters with seating for 4, and is fully stocked with all essential kitchen tools and gadgets, spices, and more. Gorgeous, new earthenware dinnerware will show-off your culinary creations in an Instagram-worthy way!

Both bedrooms have comfy queen-sized beds (master bedroom has king size linens), with plush down duvets and pillows, and all natural (cotton, hemp, linen, wool) textiles.

Nest thermostat-controlled central heating keeps the place toasty, comfortable, and care-free. (We tend to point this out because many of the cabins in the area do not have heat other than the old-fashioned wood-burning stoves! Yup, you read that right, and I think you too will appreciate the creature comforts Raven’s Roost offers as your home away from home.

  • Upper Level Loft: Perched above overlooking the living area, this IS “The Roost.”

A fun and unique open space hang-out and sleeping area. Perfect for kids and adults alike.

Four comfy twin beds (two tucked away into a somewhat private nook), with new linens and plush pillows and down duvets. Large skylight brings in light and views of tree tops. Queen-sized futon extends the sleeping area to accommodate 6 – for a fun “sleep-over party” feel. When we were cabin shopping – the loft was a “must have” feature on which our kids insisted.

A full bathroom with shower prevents everyone from stumbling down the stairs in the middle of the night.

A built-in live-edge wood slab counter (locally sourced) offers a handy workspace when it’s time to check email and social media feeds.

  • Lower Level: Rec Room – perfect for the competitive type (or a rainy day retreat).

The lower level Rec Room is a true entertainment center, filled with fun games for all ages. From the professional foosball table (this is the real deal – it took 6 of us to carry this thing in!), to ping-pong and darts. A reclining La-Z-Boy leather sectional faces the wood-burning stove (yes, there is central air heat here as well) and another huge TV for streaming movies and playing games. Enjoy your pizza and popcorn here in this down-to-earth, not-so-formal space.

A half-bathroom adds convenience, as do the french doors leading to the outdoors.

  • Outdoor Space: Nature is your backyard.

Located at the edge of the Big Trees Village subdivision bordering Forestry Land and Big Trees State Park, away from highway noise, Raven’s Roost Chalet sits at the end of a quaint cul-de-sac. A paved, nearly flat driveway makes the chalet accessible year-round.

The half-acre, gently sloping property has an abundance of various majestic evergreens including sugar pines, ponderosa pines, firs, and incense cedars. The moment you arrive and turn off the car engine, step out and take a deep breath. You will immediately see why we were drawn to this property location, with its fresh air, and the scent of the forest. Aromatherapy!

The large wood deck on the main level sits perched above the property nestled amongst the trees. Two giant sugar pines (one of which may be the largest specimen in town!) frame the view. The rays of the sun pour in through the windows in the mornings, so step outside the living room sliding doors and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. In the evening the deck lights are programmed to automatically turn on.
